Ringawera literally translates to “hot hands”  or  “quick hands” and is a common way to refer to the team who work in the kitchens on the marae. For us it means we’re the bakers who mix the dough, shape and mould the loaves, and operate the ovens in the bakery.

Ringawera started on Waiheke Island as the makers of the triple Cuisine Artisan Award-winning Ringawera Lavash. Over time, Ringawera evolved into a small-scale wholesale bakery supplying the many cafes and restaurants on the island.

Matakana was simply the obvious place to open a Bakery focused entirely on engaging directly with the customer. Somewhere to grab a real loaf of bread, a proper pastry and the best coffee in town.

Ringawera Baker is about classical, simple, and tasty food, without fuss.
